The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), which was developed at the MIND Institute at the University of California Davis, is an early intervention approach to applied behavior analysis (ABA). The ESDM approach is used for children who show early signs of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and the CST Academy team incorporates elements of the ESDM approach when appropriate.
ESDM can be used with children as early as 12 months of age, and there is extensive empirical evidence that proves its success. ESDM was named one of the “Top 10 Medical Breakthroughs of 2012” by TIME magazine, and CNN has regarded ESDM as highly successful. Some families even relocate to seek ABA therapy that uses ESDM due to the success of the method for children with autism.
